digital — tracking
App install tracking: what installed, and what happened next.
An app without attribution is a product launched into fog — installs arrive, but nobody knows which channel earned them or whether they ever opened it twice. We set up mobile measurement for the apps we build and the apps you already have: install sources, the in-app events that mean it's working, and privacy-honest configuration on both platforms.
what we actually do
From store click to retained user.
Attribution fitted to scale
Store analytics and platform tooling for organically-acquired apps; a mobile measurement partner when paid acquisition justifies one integration serving every network. Tooling sized to the problem, not the salesman.
Events past the install
Sign-ups, bookings, orders, return visits — the behaviours that mean the app earns its place on the phone. Installs are the doorway; these are the business.
Privacy frameworks respected
Apple's tracking transparency and Android's equivalents implemented as designed — aggregate where the platform says aggregate, consent where consent is due, and no grey-area SDK sneaking data out the side door.
the honest bit
Mobile attribution is partly estimation. Say so.
Between the ad click and the first open sits the store, and around it sit privacy frameworks built deliberately to limit user-level tracking. Modern app measurement is therefore probabilistic and aggregated in places — good enough to allocate budget honestly, wrong to present as a census. Our reports label which numbers are counts and which are modelled, because decisions deserve to know.
straight answers
Asked often.
Why is app attribution harder than web attribution?
Because the store sits between the click and the install, and platform privacy frameworks — Apple's especially — deliberately limit user-level tracking. Modern app measurement is probabilistic and aggregate in places; honest reporting says so instead of dressing estimates as counts.
What should we measure beyond installs?
The events that mean the app is working: sign-ups, bookings, orders, retention. Installs are the doorway metric — a campaign that buys cheap installs which never open the app twice is buying vanity.
Do we need a mobile measurement partner (MMP)?
At meaningful paid-acquisition scale, usually yes — one integration serving every ad network beats five SDKs. For an app acquired mostly through your own site and customers, store analytics plus in-app events often suffice. We fit the tooling to the scale, not the other way round.
